Entrepreneurship (Part-Time)

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

There are no entry requirements for admission to the ACE Division. However, CAPE applicants will benefit from exposure to the CSEC Principles of Accounts and Mathematics syllabi and/or sitting examinations for those subjects in preparation for taking the related CAPE courses.

 

APPLICATION PERIOD

The application period for the CSEC and CAPE subject is April 1st to July 31st. To apply, please click here

All applications submitted after July 31st will attract an additional late fee of $50.00 ECD ($35.00 + $50.00 = $85.00).

Persons applying to the ACE Division must submit the original and a copy of the following documents, along with a printout of their online application:

a) Original birth certificate or passport or citizenship certificate.

 

CLASS SCHEDULE

ACE classes are scheduled Monday to Thursday and begin between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. CSEC and CAPE classes, other than Integrated Mathematics, end at 7:00 p.m. Integrated Mathematics and some certificate courses end at 8:00 p.m.

CAPE REGISTRATION

Students may register for a minimum of one CAPE unit. The maximum number of CAPE Units for which a student may be registered is three.

Note Well:

  •  Students have the option of taking 2 or 3 CAPE double units, for example, Accounting Unit 1 and Accounting Unit 2. A double unit is the equivalent of a traditional Advanced Level.
  •  Students may also opt to do the CAPE Diploma which requires taking 6 units comprising Caribbean Studies, which is compulsory, Communication Studies and 2 double units.
  •  The third option is the CAPE Associate Degree which requires taking 10 units including Caribbean Studies, Communication Studies and Integrated Mathematics
  •  Semester 1 runs from September to December and Semester 2 runs from January to the May examinations.

 

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

ACE students who complete a CAPE programme qualify for graduation.

 

AWARDS OF DEGREES, DIPLOMAS AND CERTIFICATES

CAPE students qualify for CFBC certification as well as CAPE certification.

CFBC DIPLOMA

A minimum of two 2-Unit courses must be taken in order to qualify for CFBC certification.

CAPE CERTIFICATE

A certificate is provided for each examination sitting and upon completion of the diploma and the associate degree, additional certificates are awarded.

CAPE DIPLOMA

To qualify for the CAPE Diploma, six CAPE Units must be successfully completed (with passes at grades I to V). Units for the CAPE Diploma are typically acquired over a two year period but may be acquired over a maximum period of five years.

CAPE ASSOCIATE DEGREE

To qualify for the CAPE Associate Degree, at least 10 Units must be successfully completed (with passes at grades I to V), including 3 General Education or Compulsory) Units, namely Integrated Mathematics, Communication Studies and Caribbean Studies, 4 Units based on one’s major, and 3 supporting and elective Units that are determined by one’s programme of study. Units for the Associate Degree are completed over a maximum period of five years.

CXC EXAMINATIONS

Registration for CXC May examinations is scheduled from mid-November to mid-December. The exam fees due are communicated during that period. Registration for the January sitting is completed via the Education Department.

CFBC APPLICATION & REGISTRATION FEES

·CFBC Application Fee - $35.00.

·Late Application Fee - $50.00. The late application fee applies after 31st July.

·CAPE Registration - $375.00 per semester - 2 Units. $250 per year for EACH added Unit.

·A Payment Plan may be negotiated if you are unable to pay the fee in full.
